The next great thing for NASA is a robot with almost the same level of dexterity as a human, greater reach and flexibility than human, and stereo vision with depth perception like a human. The only thing missing is the processing power to work on its own. |
These robots will help humans to perform tasks, so fewer astronauts need to be put in harm's way. They will probably end up having a reserved seat on every space flight and in all likelyhood will end up havig a permanent presence on the International Space Station. Note the absence of any legs. Perhaps these scientists should get together with these scientists and come up with something.
