Robosapien’s beefy new sibling is UK bound in September (see story). And although the blue-eyed bot is still having his circuits tweaked by creators WowWee, he’s already looking seriously impressive. We got hands-on with Robosapien V2 at the E3 games show in LA – now he can lie down and get back up onto his feet, distinguish between different colours and sounds, grip and pick up an object as heavy as a beer can, and throw lighter objects around ten feet.

talk from the company says v3 will be awesome.
“as Robosapien grows we want to add the ability for it do tasks around the house, help a person and live with them… he can help a mother around the home, help a guy pick up things, maybe turn on the television, maybe wake you up in the morning.”
v3 will stand roughly three feet tall and will be voice controlled.

the blossoming of consumer robotics is truely a beautiful thing. If we don't kill our selves in the mean time, the future is going to be a fascinating place.

	I don't know why, but I picture these things will be a lot of fun until you wake up night and it is standing at the foot of your bed with red eyes instead of blue ones. By the way - the link is not safe for work. Not x-rated, but doesn't look good when the bikini clad women sppear on your screen at work!
