[Link] New debait. It's a fact that women can produce with another women. What happends is that the take a egg from the two women join the eggs together so it becomes fertilized. Then they put the fertilized egg back into one of the women to brith the child. But when the child comes out it can only be female. So with this information, Do you think that women can take over the world?? Seriously, think about it. |

Don't Call It A Comeback
![]() I'd like to do something with SaneAsylum again, but I still don't know what. I can clean it up a bit, make it look as pictured above, sprinkle in some WebterJAX 3.0 or whatever... but then what? Back to the same old same old? I'm not looking forward to moderating comments again. Or facilitating the destruction of relationships. This isn't really so much a cry for help as publicly muttering to myself on my own site. If you've got ideas, well then post 'em. Otherwise I'm just going to think on it for a while longer. |
Is There Any Body Out There?
![]() Here I sit, on a tropical island, drinking rum drinks, and watching the waves break. Yet all that I can think about is how sad it is that no one submits anything interesting to the sane asylum anymore. Why is that I wonder? Did everyone decide that watching telly is more stimulating? Or perhaps you are all to busy raising children to bother with the internet any more. We will see I suppose if anyone takes the required minute and a half needed to respond to this. Come on guys. I urge you all to, turn off the tube, lock the children in a closet, and get back online. It is time for the inmates to return to the asylum. Ok enough from me for today. Becides my glass is now empty and I need a new rum drink so seeya. |
Save The Internet

![]() There is a bad thing coming down the pipe for the Internet. New legislation is being considered that will let ISP's decide how good your connection will be to individual sites. For instance, if Comcast decides that they want to drive more traffic to Rapsody, the online music store, they have a deal with, they can slow down your connection with iTunes, Yahoo music and all of the other online music stores. Comcast could then charge the competition a premium in order to remove the slowdown/block so Comcast customers would be able to get their content. So why is thre a picture of a ninja with this post? Ask a Ninja has a synopsis of what net neutrality is. For more info click on the title of this article. |

New Flavor Of Linux: Kororaa
I am always on the lookout for a cool new distro, I have tried many and settled on SUSE 9.3 Pro. It is a solid distro and does everything that I need it to do. But..... I saw a new distro called Kororaa. It is based on Gentoo (which I never really got into). The desktop seems more alive. When you drag a window, a wiggles like jello, virtual desktops are crazy as the whole desktop can be dragged and moved with the mouse. Transparencies, icon resizing (not just all of them at once, but you can pick and choose how big you want each individual icon if you want), and just a very smooth OS overall. It is very OSX, but I like it better. It is still in beta release, so I can't wait for the Kororaa team to release a final version. Check out this video demonstrating the cool "wow" features of Kororaa. http://www.freedesktop.org/~davidr/xgl-demo1.xvid.avi Kororaa homepage: http://www.kororaa.org/ |
I Bought A New 1GB USB Flash Drive
I think I am enjoying my new usb drive more than I enjoy my laptop. I have a portable version of Firefox, Thunderbird, Filezilla, Miranda, Open Office, and other stuff all on the usb drive. All of this for a fraction of the price of my laptop that I can take and run on any Windoze computer I am around. I bounce back between school, work, relatives houses so I like that I can have all my files and the programs that run them with me. Here is a cool website that has alot of info and applications for turning your dull usb drive into a more productive usb drive. PortableApps.com Maybe you may benefit from mobile USB computing. Just throwing that out there. |
Michael! Whats That On Your Nose?!
![]() Michael Chrichton recently published a book flying in the face of the scientific community - saying that global warming was all hot air (PUN!). Well, aparently, the american association of petroleum geologists really loved that sh#t so they gave him an award... a ... journalism award... for a fiction novel. But lets forget their vested interest and how silly such an award is. Lets hear from SCIENCE! When the book was published in 2004, climate experts condemned it as dangerously divorced from reality."demonstrably garbage," Stephen H. Schneider, a Stanford climatologist. Daniel P. Schrag, a geochemist who directs the Harvard University Center for the Environment, called the award "a total embarrassment" that he said "reflects the politics of the oil industry and a lack of professionalism"link login for NewYorkTimes.com - cypher:cypher |

Find The American Pit Bull Terrier
![]() What is BSL? “Breed Specific Legislation” in simplest terms, is legal breedism. I know that breedism isn’t a real word but if I actually used “racism” the human’s might get upset. Breed banning doesn’t work and is unfair. It targets an entire breed of dog rather then specific aggressive dogs on a case-by-case basis. The ill tempered terrier mix that bites somebody poses a far greater threat to our community then the obedience trained American Staffordshire Terrier that is a registered therapy dog but cannot step foot inside certain city’s throughout North America. The innocent as well as the guilty must leave a city or be killed (as what happened in Denver, Co earlier this year). A “Pit Bull” is not even a breed, it is a group of dogs that the media has decided to pool many different types of dogs into. The reason I say that is whenever you hear about a dog attack, the media often times claims it was a “Pit Bull” that did the dirty deed. How many of the people that visit this site think they know exactly what a true purebred American Pit Bull looks like compared to many other breeds? I challenge you to take this quiz, I find it very interesting how many dogs have similar characteristics to the notorious Pit Bull you hear about, yet somehow none of the other breeds are ever responsible for anything that is reported on the local news? Check out all the cute puppies and see if you are able to choose the right one on the first try? Good luck! |

Increased Incidents Of Man Boobs? Think H20
![]() I have to say that I am truly surprised with the lack of information available to the layperson about the direction food is going in this country. There has been much discussion on this page about different political trends/events, but not much information or dialog about something that affects all of us equally. Even within our small socioeconomic group of friends, there are tendencies that push us one way or another when it comes to politics. I feel particularly drawn to food and food issues due to the fact that if you want to live at all, you too will have to engage in some sort of interaction with food. In my opinion, the government in this country is for Big Money and Big Business. The trend to allow gluttony all across the board for large Corporate America is sickening. Seems every time I turn around, there is another law passed that stiffs the little guy, only to allow more and more control in the form of government or big business. With the lack of mainstream information about what is happening to your dinner plate- without your consent, I felt drawn to publish some of that information on this forum. |
How To Start My Own Employee Union
So here is some politics for you. I work in a computer room (dont really want to say where, but its a computer room) that services alot of people. We just moved into a new building into a way smaller room. This new building has a employee lounge. Now, I am a work study (non-employee, but I work just as much if not more than the regular employees there) and we have been allowed to use the microwave and little table in this lounge to eat our lunch. The regular employees never really use the lounge except for the heating up food and taking it back to their office. Plus they can leave and eat or do whatever whenever they want. Now, the empoyee's union at my work for these regular employees, say that work studys are not allowed to use this lounge. I got an e-mail from my boss this morning about this. We dont get a lunch break in writing, but we just take turns if there are 2 people working eating somewhere else outside the computer room. I wrote my boss, in a nice way, that I thought that not letting us use a microwave was petty and that we need to be guaranteed a lunch break in writing. What do you guys think? How can a group of workers that are not considered full time employees secure some basic worker rights? I dont want to lose my job because I am in college and I need me some money! But on the other hand, a man can only be treated like a second class worker for so long before something has to give. |
Why Does Steve Suck?
I'm just kidding - couldn't help myself.Seriously, this is just a great quote from something I am reading that I think is worthy of discussion: "He had known for several years the trend which his paper had embraced gradually, imperceptably, without any directive from him. He had noticed the cautious "slanting" of news stories, the half-hints, the vague allusions, the peculiar adjectives peculiarly placed, the stressing of certain themes, the insertion of political inclusions where none was needed. If a story concerned a dispute between employer and employee, the employer was made to appear guilty, simply through wording, no matter what the facts presented. If a sentence referred to the past, it was always 'our dark past' or 'our dead past'. If a statement involved someone's personal motive, it was always 'goaded by selfishness' or 'egged by greed'." |
